THE SOWERS
You probably know one or two entrepreneurs in your family or extended networks. But what do you know about agricultural entrepreneurs? What do you know about socially-conscious students who are tackling the problems of agriculture in and out of the classroom? What about young students tackling problems in agriculture at the grassroots while pursuing careers and seeking out sustainable business opportunities in the enterprising field of agriculture? These are our Sowers.
Our Sowers are planting seeds and are reaping the benefits of engaging in agribusiness and development. Our Sowers are young people across the country who are passionate about agriculture and agribusiness. Our sowers are socially connected and using technology and other innovative media to address real issues
Some of our Sowers are nine students studying at the Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Osun State. They are fellows of the HISARD program (Harambe Incubator for Sustainable Agricultural and Rural Development) and will be working in a farming community this year to initiate a sustainable business project.
In this section, you will get to keep up with the progress, learn about their interests and challenges and hopefully be inspired by their work. You will also learn about capacity-building in agriculture and how to leverage resources to meet certain objectives. You will learn about information sharing between Nigerians at home and abroad and the importance of this type of collaboration in the agricultural sector. Welcome to the world of our Sowers!
