International Enterprise Development Training for Young Farmers in Ekiti

Theme: Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB)

The government of Ekiti State in conjunction with United Nations Development Programme, Nigeria is proud to announce an intensive residential training in Ekiti State, Nigeria for 150 YCAD members on “Starting Your Business” and 50 Ekiti-based Agri-business entrepreneurs on “Improving Your Business” to be facilitated by the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organisation (ITC-ILO), Turin, Italy.

The Start and Improve Your Business (SYIB) programme is a management-training programme with a focus on starting and improving small businesses as a strategy for creating more and better employment in developing economies and economies in transition.

Objectives

The overall SYIB objective is to stimulate agroeconomic development and to support management capability of emergent farmers who will in turn create new and better jobs. The immediate objective are:

To enable emergent and existing farmers, and among them explicitly youth, to effectively and independently implement business start-up and management of existing business related activities for potential and existing entrepreneurs and

To enable potential and existing entrepreneurs, both women and men, to start viable businesses and to increase the viability of existing enterprises, and to create quality employment for others within the agricultural space.
